SEPTEMBER: THE MONTH OF THE GRAPE HARVEST
September is upon us once again, bringing with it one of the most eagerly anticipated times of year for wineries: the grape harvest!
Although the harvest is early this year across almost all of Spain, we have sufficient reason to celebrate this new harvest so prepare your gloves, scissors and basket... We're heading out into the vineyards!
Our grape harvest is performed both manually and using machinery, depending on the type of grape and wine to be made. After collecting the grapes and they have been passed through the destemmer and crushing machine, preparation of our wines begins. Once these processes are complete, the wine is moved to our warehouses where the alcoholic fermentation process commences. Some wines, the younger ones, will be ready to be bottled and enjoyed after a few months of fermentation, while others still have a highly important process ahead of them: ageing or fermentation in wood.
In our barrel unit, comprised of 3000 French and American oak barrels, our wines obtain unique characteristics that only oak barrels can offer.
But instead of telling you how we make our wines, we suggest you visit for yourself and experience the grape harvest first-hand.
from 9 September to 8 October we are offering you the chance to experience a different grape harvest and a night in our Wine Tourism Complex, staying in a double room, enjoying a delicious breakfast and experiencing in-person the preparation of our wines with a guided tour of our vineyards, a grape tasting, and a traditional grape harvest lunch.
Enjoy the grape harvest with us!
